ECTS information and the Hungarian grading system

ECTS – European Credit Transfer System
In addition to grades, higher education institutions in Hungary award ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System), as a part of the Bologna system. Although there is no national regulation on this issue, it is common for 1 ECTS credit to be equivalent to approx. 30 student working hours. Credits are awarded when a course has been completed and all required examinations have been successfully taken. 60 ECTS credits represent the workload of one year of study and 30 ECTS credits represent workload of one semester.
